Inner Delight (Poem)

The stark barrenness of the desert
stood as mute reflection of my heart

The thirst of the parched tongue
was puny to my heart’s longing
The waterless dry death of the desert
would be relief to my love’s longing

    This merciless longing
    not seeking any belonging

The toils of the endless day
the lonesomeness of the longer night
    amalgamated into brightness bright
soaking me in an inner delight

The merciless longing and lack of belonging
led me on into the wonderment of dissolving
