The members of the Rally for Rivers board convened along with Sadhguru to discuss the progress of Cauvery Calling and other Rally for Rivers campaigns in 2020, and to chart a roadmap for 2021. Board members include illustrious people like Justice Arijit Pasayat, retired Supreme Court Judge; Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson & MD of Biocon; Mr. Ravi Singh, Secretary General & CEO of World Wide Fund for Nature – India; Mr. Shashi Shekhar, IAS (retired), former Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation; Mr. Pravesh Sharma, IAS (retired), who last served as MD of Small Farmer’s Agribusiness Consortium in the Ministry of Agriculture; Mr. B. Muthuraman, former Vice Chairman, Tata Steel; Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairperson of ISRO; and Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII.
The team was delighted to share that against all odds and amidst a debilitating pandemic, the Cauvery Calling team managed to offer 11 million saplings in 2020 to farmers who have planted them on their land, which is a twofold increase compared to 2019.
