Damaru is an instrument of Adiyogi, the first yogi. He is also the Adiguru or the first Guru. The Yogic Lore says that on the day of Guru Poornima, he decided to offer the science to the first seven disciples, who are, now, celebrated as the Saptharishis.
This album is an offering to the Adiyogi on the occasion of Guru Poornima. This is a collection of chants and songs on Adiyogi recognizing his as a yogi, a guru, a being beyond qualities who defies all definition. We hope Damaru awakens and resonates with the passion in everyone to seek that aspect of us which seeks the beyond.
