    An asana is a posture. There are innumerable postures your body can take. Among these, certain postures have been identified as “yoga asanas” or yogasanas.

        The word asana literally means a posture. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction.
