On the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Baroness of Asthal, and India’s Chief Coordinator for the G20 Summit, Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, IFS, joined Sadhguru on stage to unfurl the tricolor in the presence of Adiyogi. This was followed by scintillating cultural dance performances by Project Samskriti and students of Isha Home School.
The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC spoke about India’s importance to the Commonwealth of Nations, and how the Save Soil movement is perfectly in line with the Commonwealth’s ecological vision.
Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla spoke passionately about what India has achieved in the last 75 years and how its achievements of the next 25 years will make India a great force in the world. He also mentioned that India will be assuming the presidency of the most influential country grouping in the world – the G20 – and revealed that out of the 190 meetings of the G20 in India, an important one will be held at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.
In the end, Sadhguru addressed the gathering where he spoke about India’s trajectory of becoming not only a prosperous nation, but one that draws power from its wisdom and cultural strength and becomes a beacon of wellbeing to the world.
In the previous day, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC had visited a model agroforestry farm in Pollachi to see the Save Soil movement in action on the ground.
Sadhguru also met Harsh Shringla, Foreign Secretary of India and G20 Chief Coordinator (India), on 14 August for a one-on-one conversation.
